We've Only Just Begun

Welcome!  My name is Shani (pronounced Shay-nee) and this is my first blogging experience.  It has been suggested that I begin using a blog by a publisher that I've submitted a children's book to recently. I've been writing for years, mostly poetry, and have never really looked into pursuing a further outlet for my creativity.  Though, I have always enjoyed sharing my words with those around me and I would love to be able to make a difference in someone's life; someone who may read a story or poem of mine and really connect and/or relate to it in a positive way.  I want to write from the heart, which for me may be serious at times, always honest, and a lot of humor thrown here and there. I always say to my co-worker that if laughing would make you live longer, then she and I will be around forever...  I want to write for every day people, just like you and me, about things that happen in our lives; good and bad, happy and sad.  Share with me and I'll share with you and we will be off to a great start!
